It is a great honour to host Palestinian pastor, theologian and writer Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac on the 27th March at Newtownbreda Presbyterian Church for an event starting at 7.30pm.

Munther has been one of the most prominent Christian Palestinian voices challenging Western indifference and calling for solidarity with and justice for Palestinians in Gaza and also the West Bank. Munther runs the bi-annual conference “Christ At The Checkpoint” and he was quoted in the recent genocide case at the International Court of Justice.

At the Christmas service at his church in Bethlehem in 2024 his words challenged followers of Christ everywhere:
“Christ is still in the rubble. This is His manger. Jesus finds His place with the marginalized, the tormented, the oppressed, and the displaced. We look at the Holy Family and see them in every displaced and homeless family, living in despair. In the Christmas story, God walks with them and calls them His own.”

This visit is being made possible by the Irish School of Ecumenics at Trinity College in Dublin and we are very grateful to them and for Newtownbreda Presbyterian Church for providing a warm, large venue for this important event.
