This month we are delighted to welcome Gillian Wharton. Gillian is Rector of Booterstown and Carysfort with Mount Merrion Church of Ireland parishes in Dublin. She is responsible for the pastoral, liturgical and spiritual welfare of nurture of the two parishes, as well as being the part-time Church of Ireland chaplain to the Blackrock Clinic and the Blackrock Hospice. She is also Chairperson of the Board of Management of Booterstown National School.
In addition to her parish responsibilites, she is a Canon of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin. She serves on the Diocesan Councils, Diocesan Glebes and Finance Committee, Diocesan Board of Education and on the Executive and Finance Committee of the Diocesan Board of Education, Diocesan Board of Nomination, Diocesan Episcopal Electoral College, General Synod, Standing Committee of the General Synod, the General Synod Board of Education, the General Synod Board of Education Executive (Republic of Ireland), Newpark School Board of Management, Chairperson of the Dublin and Glendalough Diocesan Clergy Conference Committee, Governor of the Church of Ireland College of Education.
She has also served as the Church of Ireland representative on the National Spiritual and Religious Advisory Panel of Scouting Ireland; as the Church of Ireland representative on Embrace (Inter-church marriage preparation co-ordination group), Chapter Clerk to Christ Church Cathedral Dublin Chapter, Management Committee of the Church of Ireland Theological College.
