Audio from Harbour is back, wherever you get your podcasts. This episode is a recording of Sunday’s sermon.
If the incarnation is about God coming to earth, then the ascension is about God leaving the earth – isn’t it?
But was God really only with us for the duration of Jesus’ earthly life? Was our experience of Emmanuel, our “God with us”, really that short lived?
Or is there something else we can learn between the sunrise of Jesus coming to earth and the sunset of his leaving it?
Could it be, that the beautiful day between the dawn of incarnation and the dusk of ascension holds the truth of every other day we’ve ever had?
That God was always present to us and has never left. The only variable being the degree to which we can accept that freedom giving truth.
