You might have heard a lot about so-called “conversion practices” in the media recently, especially in relation to the Bill currently making its way through Stormont.
What you probably haven’t heard, however, is that there are Christians across Northern Ireland who also want to see an end to practices that pressure LGBTQ+ people to change, suppress or deny who they are.
Too much of the public discussion makes it seem as if there is only one “Christian position” on this issue.
But we want to make clear that there are Christians, churches and faith leaders who believe LGBTQ+ people should be treated with dignity, safety and full humanity in all places, ESPECIALLY within religious settings.
So we’re creating a space where those Christian voices can be seen, heard and represented more clearly in the public conversation. We’ve launched a simple website with a public statement, some background to why we’re speaking up, and information about how to get involved:
